139,000 engineers are members of VDI, Europe’s biggest scientific-technical association. VDI Verein Deutscher Ingenieure e. V. sees itself, nationally and internationally, as a spokesman of engineers and of technology. It is a non-profit organisation, independent of economic interests and interests of party politics.
VDE Verband der Elektrotechnik Elektronik Informationstechnik e. V.
VDE – These three letters stand for one of the biggest European associations of industries and professions of electrical and information engineering. It is an international platform of experts for science, standardisation and product testing – interdisciplinary, closely linked, and unique in the world. Some 35,000 members, of whom 1,300 are companies, 8,000 students and 3,000 career entrants, make use of the VDE network as a source of know-how, as a working platform and as a communication network.
