EPoSS General Assembly & Annual Forum 2010, 7-8 October, Lisbon
The EPoSS General Assembly will comprise reporting on current activities, the outlining of future strategies and election of the EPoSS Chairman and Vice Chairman. At the Annual Forum representatives from industry and research will present advanced solutions to design, manufacturing or interface challenges arising from the integration of multiple functionalities, technologies, materials, scales and disciplines into operational Smart Systems.
ETP Nanomedicine General Assembly 2010
The ETPN General Assembly, dedicated to ETP members and the Nanomedicine community at large, will take place on 14-15 October 2010 in Milan. A key target of this event will be to investigate the challenges of translational research as well as supporting the nanomedicine stakeholders in strengthening their industrial, clinical and research networks.

On September 9th and 10th EPoSS, NCP MST, the new EU-project ICT4FEV and VDI/VDE-IT will stage a Proposer’s Day for the new ICT work programme of the Commission and a strategy and networking event for the European Green Cars Initiative in Berlin.

First project of the European Green Cars Initiative being coordinated by VDI/VDE-IT
In early May 2010 the first project of the European Green Cars Initiative “Information and Communication Technologies for the Full Electric Vehicle“ (ICT4FEV) was launched. Coordinated by VDIVDE-IT, the objectives of the project are to build a R&D community, to edit a European roadmap, to recommend standards and regulations, and to establish a European organization for electric mobility.

Manufacturing ICT components in Europe
The European Commission launched a study to explore the potential of ICT components and systems manufacturing in Europe, to be carried out by VDI/VDE-IT and CEA LETI. The study will be based on an in-depth analysis of the situation in Europe and will lead to a set of recommendations for political actions, in view of emerging opportunities in ICT components and systems manufacturing in the EU.

ICT enabled independent living for elderly. A status-quo analysis on products and the research landscape in the field of Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) in EU-27
This study is the first comprehensive data collection on AAL for all member states of EU-27. After presenting important estimations and figures based upon this data, the study closes with recommendations for all relevant stakeholders.
