- German Agency for Material Efficiency – demea
On behalf of the Federal Ministry of Economy and Technology
The efficient use of production material allows considerable cost reductions. The BMWi has created the German Agency for Material Efficiency for the development of this potential. The agency is especially intended to hone the SMEs awareness for the economic potential of material efficiency. The VDI/VDE-IT is responsible for the agency´s management.
- SME Guidance Programme for the Profitable Enhancement of the Material Efficiency - VerMat
On behalf of the Federal Ministry of Economy and Technology
The BMWi initiated the “SME Guidance Programme for the Profitable Enhancement of the Material Efficiency (VerMat)” to support companies in recognizing and realising the cost-reduction potential of a systematic material usage. The German Agency for Material Efficiency is implementing the programme, the VDI/VDE-IT is in charge of its organisational part.
- Technology and capital
VDI/VDE-IT supports technology companies in planning their financing and in attracting capital, in developing market introduction strategies, and in project management aimed at translating innovative ideas into practice. Lenders, investors and technology companies are counselled on financing promising investment projects. Its offer comprises expertises on technologies, markets and strategies for the Corporate Finance sector, counselling on new issues as well as economic and technical due diligence. - Technologie Coaching Berlin Center
The Technologie Coaching Center (TCC) supports technology companies in Berlin in planning and executing innovation projects. VDI/VDE-IT acts as a consultancy partner for the TCC. - Business starters’ multimedia manual
The business starters’ multimedia manual, developed on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, affords practical help on all important decisions and necessary steps for setting up business.
Consultancy of governments and non-governmental organisations
- Cluslib – Clustering and Benchmarking of Selected Industrial Sectors in Libya
The project is part of the government´s politico-economic measures to advance the Libyan industry´s ability to innovate and to compete in the long term. The VDI/VDE-IT is currently compiling an analysis of selected industry sectors on behalf of the Peoples Committee for Industry and Mining. Subsequently these sectors will undergo a benchmarking process. In addition already established networks and industrial clusters will be identified and analysed.
- Vocatrain – Studying the Vocational Training Structures and Programmes in Libya
on behalf of the Libyan Government
Project vocatrain started in February 2007 and aims at the evaluation of the vocational training system, specific programmes and training centres in Libya.

mst news, a technical journal published by VDI/VDE-IT, appears six times annually with the latest information on worldwide developments in microsystems technology. Among its more than 12,000 subscribers there are decision-makers in industry, research institutions and universities.
