- Lower Saxony’s regional microsystems technology drive
on behalf of the Lower Saxon Ministry of Economic Affairs, Employment and Transport
Engaging in a regional initiative to develop and enhance microsystems technology in Lower Saxony the Lower Saxon Ministry of Economic Affairs, Employment and Transport is endeavouring to give an added push to local industry in the worldwide competition for the lucrative markets of microsystems technology. VDI/VDE-IT assists the regional initiative with its expertise and organisationally.

on behalf of KfW-Mittelstandsbank
With the support of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, KfW-Mittelstandsbank, which is a bank for SMEs, funds business startups, with VDI/VDE-IT providing brief expertises for the programme.
- FUTOUR
Project sponsorship on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Labour
With FUTOUR 2004 the Ministry funds the setting up of technology-oriented companies in the New Federal Laender and in the eastern part of Berlin. Funding is geared to the specific needs of innovative business setups. VDI/VDE-IT assists such business starters by providing comprehensive technical and management consultancy.

- Solar thermal power generation
Project sponsorship on behalf of the Federal Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Reactor Safety
In addition to energy conservation, the utilisation of regenerative energies is the most effective contribution to the protection of the earth climate. With regard to solar energy, installations generating solar thermal power are the most economical variant. This is why the Ministry supports research into and the development of technologies for high-temperature solar thermal energy generation under the project sponsorship of VDI/VDE-IT.

SHIFT is a European Commission funded Integrated Project in the frame of the IST (Information Society Technologies) Programme. The objective of the project is the development of smart, high-integration, mechanically flexible electronic systems, for a wide variety of applications.
- HealthyAims
funded by the European Commission
Healthy Aims is a EU Framework VI project with 26 partners across 9 EU countries. These partners develop a range of medical implants to help the aging population and those with disabilities. The project is funded under the IST Microsystem programme and combines experts from a wide range of disciplines.
- Polyapply - The Application of Polymer Electronics Towards Ambient Intelligence
funded by the European Commission
Under the European research project PolyApply (The Application of Polymer Electronics Towards Ambient Intelligence) 20 European partners from industry and research work to get closer to the vision of the electronically assisted everyday life ("ambient intelligence") on the basis of applications in polymer applications. The European Commission funds the project with 12 million Euros. VDI/VDE-IT assists the project administratively.
