Jorge-A. Sanchez-P. holds Dipl.-Ing. (1992) & Dr.-Ing. (1996) degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering (NTUA) and a Master's Certification (2000) in Professional Program & Project Management (Stevens Institute of Technology). He has participated in numerous research and development projects and directed teams while in the Academia (NTUA, ICSC), Research labs (AT&T Bell Lab, Research Center “Athena”), Industry (Lucent Technologies, Alpha Systems, AlgoSystems, Ellemedia Tech) and Governmentat organizations (GRNET) both in the EU and the US. Ηe has served as an expert/consultant for the European Commission (Framework Programmes 4-7), Governments (Science Foundation Ireland, Greek Secretariat for Research and Technology, Greek Operational Programme for Competitiveness, Greek Operational Programme for the Information Society), the European ICT Association (EICTA), the Trans-European Research and Education Networking Association (TERENA), various telecommunications companies and venture capital groups, served in the Board of the Central and Eastern European Networking Association (CEENet) and the Alexander Innoνation Zone of Thessaloniki and was a founding member of the eInfrastructures Reflection Group (eIRG). He has also served as the Greek National Expert on Research Infrastructures for FP6, at the Computing and Data Treatment Group of ESFRI and at the Scientific Technology Options Assessment (STOA) Group of the European Parliament. He is a member of IEEE, FITCE, PMI, TEE. He has received several national and international awards while studying and working in the industry. He has more than 30 articles in journals and conferences and more than 30 invited speeches. Since 2006 he is the Director for Strategic Planning and Business Development of Corallia, the Hellenic Technology Clusters Initiative.
