Pôle S2E : Sciences et systèmes de l’énergie électrique (DRAFT)
In the region Centre, initiated in 1996 in Tours, the successful experience of a Joint Enterprise-University research platform has demonstrated the relevance of such an approach: the CERTeM (Centre d'Etudes et de Recherches en Microelectroniques), located at the heart of an industrial site and supported financially by the Local Government and the State, now hosts about thirty researchers. Starting from this experience, the building of a regional partnership, to which have joined dozens of companies of all sizes as well as public research organizations which developed complementary and high level skills in the fields of electrical energy, has led to the creation of the pôle de competitivité S2E2 Sciences and Energy Systems Electric. Labelled on July 12, 2005, the centre S2E2 took the form of an association on September 12. Our vision, our ambition, our projects Our Vision is to create a network of national and international reference, bringing together companies and research organizations in the fields of electrical energy and energy efficiency. Our AMBITION is to help strengthen the competitiveness of our members by the emergence, construction and the success of innovative projects from a partnership approach between companies, research laboratories, public or private, and training bodies. Our projects aim to design, develop, produce and market products or systems economically viable, integrating real leaps in technology, environmentally friendly and aimed at international markets. Faced with the climate change challenges and the need to move away from fossil fuels, S2E2 aims at mobilizing technological skills and potential of its members and their partners to develop innovative and relevant industrial solutions , provide answers to these global and crucial environmental challenges , propose alternatives to existing products and technologies. Focusing on materials, processes, components, systems and subsystems, or finished products, projects of the Cluster S2E2 have as common denominator the achievement of significant gains in energy efficiency.
