Lubelskie Drewno - Regional Cluster Lublin Wood
The Association called LUBELSKIE DREWNO Regionalny Klaster [Regional Cluster LUBLIN WOOD] in Lublin was established to meet the needs of the region. The Association at the moment unities 20 entities from the wood industry and the related entities. The cooperation between the Association and Fundacja Rozwoju Rzemiosła [Craft Development Foundation], Fundacja Willa Polonia [Polonia Mansion Foundation] and Lubelska Izba Rzemieślnicza [Lublin Chamber of Craft], is thriving dynamically. The basic assumption related to creating a cluster for the Lublin region has been to make use of the existing and already functioning frameworks of the cooperation of the companies. Regional Cluster LUBLIN WOOD has been established after taking into consideration a little cooperation, or the lack of it, between the related entities, and the necessity to stimulate the economic activity of the region and to improve the region's attractiveness by a series of actions within the cooperation by solving problems. All the actions aim at helping the companies to create a positive image which will be popularised when the projects are carried out, and which constitues a crucial element in the regional policy of Lubelszczyzna [Lublin region]. The superior objective is to strengthen the potential of competitiveness in the regional as well as the international scale. Aims of the Association • Supporting the development of the entrepreneurship and the economic initiatives of Lublin region by: - stimulating trust between the related entities, - cooperating in implementing new solutions, - increasing the competitiveness of the companies, - establishing a cooperation with other units who carry out similar aims. • Developing the economic and cultural integration of the region by: - creating a lobbying to develop and promote the Lublin Voivodship, - supporting the promotional processes of the region and the adjecent villages, - arousing the cultural and ethnographic awareness related to the development of tourism. • Improving the effectiveness of the flow of information by: - participating in the Association's meetings within the region, - exchanging the experiences and information between the entities within the wood sector and the research and scientific institutions, - increasing the cooperation between the related entities and the local authorities, including the Marshal Office, - exchanging the information between the small and medium-sized companies and the local authorities. • Solving the problems related to the social exclusion and marginalization in connection with the job market and supporting the social and economic development of the urban and rural areas. • Implementing the activities which promote the region within the country and abroad. • Managing many projects resulting from the current needs and the local demand within business. Plans * Within the cooperation the Association aims at establishing constant contact with the city's authorities regarding the regular exchange of information related to promotions and economic cooperation, * Constructing residential housing structures for a groups of people with low income who cannot make their dreams come true regarding their own flat in the local market of the house construction within the traditional system, * Constructing facilities in the new technology, taking into account ecology (timber frame technology), using new technological solutions conforming to the EU standards, * Focusing on inexpensive housing for groups of medium-wealth people and the simultaneous tight cooperation between the related entities, * From the beginning of the year an expansion on the EU countries: Lithuania, Ukraine, Slovakia, the Check Republic in order to establish a cooperation within inexpensive technological solutions, * In CLUSTER'S plans there is also a purchase of a modern machine which will enable the implementation of modern technological solutions related to connecting wooden elements with metal elements of high strength, * Commencing a cooperation with the EU clusters, and a cooperation with related clusters which are already existing.
