On behalf of the Federal Ministry of Health, the VDI/VDE-IT and IEGUS (Institut für Europäische Gesundheits- und Sozialwirtschaft GmbH) analysed technical assistance systems which improve the home care situation of care recipients, avoid or delay treatment in hospitals and are suitable for entering the benefits catalogue of the social care insurance. Hans-Joachim Otto, State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Economy and Technology awarded the winners of the second round 2011 within the competition "Gründerwettbewerb - IKT Innovativ". 18 start ups received their winner certificates.
