The Institute for Print and Media Technology of the Chemnitz University of Technology (TUC) specializes in the adaptation of mass and digital printing technologies to the demands of the manufacture of large area electronics as a mass product. Organic Electronic Systems made by application of these printing technologies are printed paper keyboards and other communication elements, OFETs, fully printed ring oscillators on plastic and fibre based substrates based on OFETs and RFID antennas. In some cases these printed organic systems are part of smart objects. With the preparation of the first fully mass printed transistor in 2003 and the first fully mass printed integrated circuit in 2005, TUC has significantly contributed to the progress of the field.
