Renewable Energies
The protection of the Earth’s atmosphere is a central political goal. This involves national and international commitments to reduce primary energy consumption, to lower greenhouse gas emissions and to make use of Renewable Energies as envisaged in the new energy programme of the Federal Government of Germany.
In order to continue improving the competitiveness of Renewable Energies vis-à-vis power from fossil fuels (Grid Power), technological developments are needed which help lower the cost of power generation. At the same time, innovative solutions for intelligent energy and load management (frequently subsumed under headwords like e-energy and Smart Grid) and storage technologies are required in the area of network integration.
