Founding of the VDI Technology Centre:

The introduction of new technologies is a challenge for many small and medium-sized enterprises. To support them, the Federal Ministry of Research initiates the establishment of a technology centre. As a department of the VDI, the VDI-TZ, founded on April 1, is tasked with promoting technological development in the fields of microelectronics and physical technologies. At the beginning, 26 employees work at Ernst-Reuter-Platz in Berlin.
