Innovation for a climate-neutral future

With a strong commitment to sustainable mobility, energy, and digital technologies, we drive future-oriented solutions for Germany. Our focus areas include high-performance mobility services in urban and rural regions, resilient energy systems, and the decarbonisation of the economy.

In the Mobility, Energy, and Future Technologies department, we support the development of these key topics through a diverse range of tailored programmatic and strategic activities.

In the funding programmes and projects we manage, we strengthen climate-friendly and sustainable mobility, the transformation of the automotive industry, electronic systems for demanding applications, battery cell production in Germany and Europe, new energy sources such as renewable fuels and hydrogen, and the decarbonisation of energy-intensive industries.

In doing so, we draw on our in-depth technological expertise and many years of experience in managing funding programmes for investment projects, research, and development. Our expertise is rounded off by a broad portfolio of methods for analysing technology fields and industrial ecosystems, technology road mapping, and strategy development for decision-makers at the federal, state, and industry levels.

The successful transformation of the mobility and energy system requires cooperation between all relevant economic and technological sectors. In the Mobility, Energy, and Future Technologies department, we work in an interdisciplinary and solution-oriented manner with a clear view of the bigger picture to jointly shape future-oriented solutions.
