The FutuRes project uses demographic science tools to examine demographic trends and the dynamics of ageing in European societies. It focuses on current and future processes in the areas of migration, fertility, work and health, and social welfare arrangements. Furthermore, under the heading of ‘resilience’, the project develops possible political responses to these processes of change and the associated new uncertainties. FutuRes sees itself as a transdisciplinary policy laboratory and aims to provide a platform where decision-makers from research, politics, business and civil society can address the aforementioned developments on the basis of the project results in order to jointly develop fact-based solutions and responses for Europe.
As experts in strategic foresight, the VDI/VDE-IT team is responsible for organising foresight and scenario workshops. The results are used to create scenario reports.
