The Service Centre for Industrial Transformation in the Regions is an initiative of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE), coordinated by the Competence Centre for Climate Protection in Energy-Intensive Industries (KEI) and implemented by VDI/VDE Innovation + Technik GmbH as the main contractor together with its cooperation partners, CBE DIGIDEN AG, Gesellschaft für Wirtschaftliche Strukturforschung mbH (GWS) and Heinze Akademie GmbH.
The Service Centre for Industrial Transformation in the Regions aims to establish forward-looking transformation communities instead of reactive transfer companies:
The pressure of climate change, digitalisation and automation is challenging German companies to transform their processes quickly, profoundly and sustainably – in an environment characterised by growing complexity, a shortage of skilled workers and increasing pressure to innovate. For this transformation to succeed, not only technological solutions are needed, but also new skills, learning cultures and cooperation.
The Service Centre for Industrial Transformation in the Regions empowers companies and regional industry initiatives to successfully shape change. To this end, it imparts practical knowledge and analyses, promotes regional networking and supports concrete steps in the regions.
