Batteries Europe is the European technology and innovation platform for batteries. It provides the battery research community with a forum to drive forward research and innovation activities, thereby accelerating the development of a globally competitive European battery industry. In this way, it supports the implementation of the implementation plan for Action 7 of the SET Plan and other priority measures that contribute to accelerating the energy transition and achieving the EU's goal of becoming a global leader in the introduction and use of renewable energies.
VDI/VDE-IT promoted international cooperation in the battery sector and systematically monitored international developments. These were compiled in country fact sheets and reports and further explored through the organisation of fact-finding missions to the USA, Canada, Japan and South Korea.
